Many people around the Tri-Cities have gotten essentially a death threat email. The sender says he or she has been hired to kill you, and is warning you to take it seriously.
The content gets worse as you keep reading. The person asks for $15,000 if you want to save your life. The Better Business Bureau is warning everyone to be careful and don't reply to this email.
BBB officials are not sure where the emails are coming from.
"There's all kinds of characters out there, in cyberspace and nobody really knows where this originated from or why it's circulating again, but it's back to the consumer be aware, think about things before you open them or respond to them," said Norma Miller, with the Tri-Cities Better Business Bureau.
The BBB also says they've seen these emails in the past, and they are now coming back. The email warns you not to contact police but if you continue to get it, the BBB says it's ok to warn police of the situation.
