Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Helps Women and Minorities in Business

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.-- Small businesses are a big part of the Tri-Cities economy, and women and minorities are finding a way to learn more about the resources available to them.

What better way than to learn from those who know best. Thanks to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, many of these future business owners got the chance to network with representatives from the Washington State Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises.

They say starting a business is not an easy job for anyone.

"Do you really know how to run your business or manage a business, because there's more to it than just opening your doors for business," said Jenaro Castaneda, Business Analyst for MWBE.

"This is a tremendous help for a woman, minority," said Ruth Mackmiller, who is about to start a concrete business in the Tri-Cities.

This business analyst also says it's important to have a business plan before starting any small business. This workshop will now be heading over to future business owners in the Yakima area.
