Connell Boys Beat Brewster to Take Fourth Place

YAKIMA, Wash - Spencer Hadley scored 20 points and Brett Clyde added 15 as Connell held off Brewster 54-49 for fourth place Saturday in the Class 1A boys state tournament.

      Hadley hit two free throws with 21 seconds left and Clyde added two more with 11 seconds left to clinched the win over last year's state champions.

      Hadley made 8 of 10 shots and Clyde 5 of 18 as the Eagles (23-4) earned their sixth state trophy and matched their best finish ever.  Clyde had nine rebounds, and Hadley eight. Both added three assists. Lance Whitney chipped in 11 points for Connell, which shot 46 percent (20 of 44) to Brewster's 36 percent (16 of 44).

      Bryce Scheller led the Bears (18-12) with 13 points, and Cole
Youngers had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
