KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Friends and family of Jovan Conn gathered at First Baptist Church in Kennewick for his memorial service.
"Jo-Jo" was a student at Southridge High and died last Monday. His death has taken a toll on those who knew him well at school.
Teachers say he was "the heart of southridge". "Jo-Jo" was the manager of several sports teams, and was famous for his half court 3 point shots on the basketball court.
He will be greatly missed for his smile and school spirit.
"Everyday he would come to school and he would just have a really big smile on his face," said Karrina Wilsey, a friend.
"He would have the head-band, and he would have the long socks and the shorts and the Southridge Spirit t-shirt, every Friday he was dressed up, there wasn't a Friday that he wasn't dressed up," said Jessica Morris, another friend.
Teachers also say "Jo-Jo" always walked everywhere, and he was the first and last person at sports practices.
