YAKIMA, Wash. -- City of Yakima officials are expecting some resolution Tuesday night regarding the controversial banners along Yakima Avenue.
A sub-committee to the City Council has already voted to replace the banners, which some people say resemble rifles.
"People tend to have strong feelings about dollars being spent by the city", says Yakima Mayor Dave Edler. "I think it has the potential to be a very lively discussion".
If the council votes to replace the banners, the new ones will be paid for by citizens in the community. Edler says many people expressed interest in donating money to replace the banners.
