There is a free counseling service available through the state for homeowners and those in the market for a new home. They will guide you through the process so that your home doesn't end up foreclosed or on the market.
The Homeownership Information Hotline and Counseling Program is in full affect and they are ready to answer your questions about owning a home and the process you should go through before you buy one.
The program is the result of a bill passed by the senate and the house for $1.5 million dollars in emergency funds to help educate residents about homeownership and mortgages.
There is a toll free hotline you can call 1-877-894-HOME or an informational web site you can visit, www.homeownership.wa.gov, and all the services are free of charge.
The counseling services will be available through June of 2009.
