MILTON-FREEWATER, Oreg.- Teachers in Milton-Freewater may finally have a contract.
It appears the district and teachers finally have an agreement.
Teachers are expected to vote on the newest offer Thursday. It could finally mean the end of this saga.
Teachers have said they may strike if an agreement isn't reached soon.
The latest offer reportedly includes a 3% raise each year, but some say that may not be enough because some teachers claim the district has deeper pockets and they deserve more.
"I hope, I hope that the situation is resolved not only for our children's sake, they are our future, but we keep the good teachers and, we keep all the teachers and we quit losing our teachers to other districts," said one concerned parent.
Teachers have been working without a contract for about the last six months.
An agreement would end years of controversy within the district, including the Superintendent being placed on probation by the state.
