High School Wrestling Pics on EBay site concern some local parents

Posted: Updated:
Yakima, WA -  The website 'EBay' pulls controversial pictures showing local high school wrestlers after receiving complaints from parents.

Parents found the EBay site selling a wrestling dvd featuring highlights from regional and state tournaments.

Those sites have been shutdown, but one woman sent us some pictures she saved from the site.

We've decided not to show the pictures up close because many involve underage wrestlers in what some could consider sexually exploitive situations.

One parent did speak to us this afternoon.

Darrell Smart coaches his son at West Valley High school and says his son was in some of the pictures.

But he says he did not see anything that concerned him in those particular pictures.

"I suspect you can go to an event and say you can identify parts of the human anatomy," says Smart, "But it's bizarre that someone might find that titillating."

Other parents expressed outrage on message boards not only about what they thought was the suggestive nature of the pictures, but also that there was no consent for this person to sell pictures of their children on EBay.

The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association is investigating.

The Yakima Police Department tells us that there is nothing technically illegal with the photographs.

Detectives can't comment on this situation, but are also looking into it.

We've learned that the photographer is from Yakima, but could not confirm his identity.
