KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Kennewick School District will have a new superintendent starting next year. Marlis Lindbloom says she has enjoyed the people she has worked with and the progress the district has made, but she says she is just ready to have time to do other things.

She has spent 37 years in education and 28 with the Kennewick School District. She looks forward to doing some travelling, as well as playing golf, something she hasn't had time to do in years.

She says, "There's not a lot of time you can play golf between 11 at night and 5 in the morning."

She says she is most proud of the student's the district has helped prepare and the fact that the district is now financially sound. Marlis says her last day will be August 31st, giving the school board time to find a replacement.
