Hermiston Bulldogs Hire New Football Coach

Posted: Updated:

HERMISTON, Ore - After 5 years with David Lewis at the helm the Hermiston Bulldogs are welcoming in a new era.  Last Tuesday the Hermiston school board approved the hiring of MArk Hodges as their new head football coach.

You may recognize Hodges name because his old high school in Nevada has been in the news recently.  Five weeks ago one of Hodges' players, Kevin Hart, nearly pulled off the hoax of the century.  Hart claimed he was being recruited by several colleges and called a press conference to announce his signing with California.  The only problem with that is that Cal had never heard of the lineman!  Hodges says that fiasco did not factor in to his decision to come to Hermiston and coach the bulldogs.

Hodges has quite a few connections to Hermiston.  Bulldogs Athletic Director Mike Kaye was the A.D. at North Medford high when Hodges was the offensive coordinator for the football team.  Hodges is also friends with Hermiston's principal.

Hodges brings with him a style of offense similar to what they run at Prosser; a 'fun-and-gun' type of attack that will be quite different from the last 5 seasons at Hermiston.
