Yakima, WA - Western RV's president confirms the company has been forced to layoff close to 50 employees.
President Bob Wert says due to an economic down turn, they've been forced to reduce their workforce by 47 hourly employees.
That's a 17-percent decrease overall from 278 employees to 231.
Wert says this reduction will allow them to better align with market demand, as well as improve overall efficiency.
He says the layoffs haven't been as bad as with other manufacturers because the company recently introduced several new products into the market place.
