Sun Kings Forced Out of Sundome for Playoff Game

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Sun kings were ousted from the Sundome tonight because of the Home and Garden Show this weekend. The team was forced to play tonight's playoff game in the Y.V.C.C. gymnasium.

Not only did fans have to cram into the much smaller venue at Y.V.C.C., but they also had to walk a distance to get inside the game.

There isn't much room for parking at the college campus, and the few spots that they do have were quickly filled. Many fans heading to tonight's game had to park in other lots surrounding the campus or park out on the streets.

Sun Kings fan Dennis Mcquiston said, "This is a crock. The Sundome is for the Sun Kings, not the Home and Garden Show."

When asked about parking, Mcquiston said, "As long as I don't get a ticket. I don't know if I am allowed to park where I am or not. So, we'll see after the game."

The Home and Garden Show was scheduled at the Sundome before the Sun kings made it into the playoffs.

Sun Kings management says the players are use to the gym because they use it for practice. The biggest difficulty for them was selling tickets without a box office.

If the Sun Kings win a third and deciding game will be held at Y.V.C.C. on Monday.

So the fans may have to put up with the inconvenience for one more game.
