KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Runners young and old wanted to kick off the Spring with a little exercise. Close to 500 people met at R.F. McDougalls on Saturday morning for the Saint Patrick's Day Foot Race.
Runners could do the 5k or 10k walks. This event is put together by the Three Rivers Road Runners Club. They've been doing this for 26 years.
All the money raised goes back to the community in the form of scholarships. The race director says it's always good to see people get in the spirit.
"Seeing some of the same people over and over again, it's great to have everybody come out and a lot of camaraderie a lot of fun to do," said Eric Grager, the Foot Race Director.
"I do this pretty much every year, not paint the dog but this year it was her idea. It's a good family environment, fun to run, just an easy, good spring run," said one of the runners.
Several awards were also given out at the end of the race. The top three men and women in the 5k and 10k races will be awarded, as well as the top three people in each age group.
