Man arrested for threatening Spokane VA Hospital

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police Officers arrested 37-year old Robert M. Waggy Saturday for Felony Harassment, regarding threats he made to personnel at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.

A special agent workig for the U.S. Capitol Police Threat Assessment Office tipped off Spokane police that Waggy had been making threats toward the VA Hospital in Spokane using "deadly force in a large confrontation." Police say Waggy made a number of these threats in letters and phone calls to U.S Congressional offices.

Police say they performed surveillance on the subject and arrested him for Felony Harassment around 12:45 Saturday after a traffic stop.

Waggy was previously convicted in 2004 for felony harassment involving a state worker.

Authorities are working with U.S. Capitol Police as the investigation continues.
