PASCO -- A deadly car crash on interstate 82 leavs a man and a woman dead. The accident happened just after 5p.m. on Sunday evening. Pasco police and Washington State Patrol arrived shortly on the scene.
Troopers say 22 year old Eduardo Cario and 28 year old Anna Birrueta, both from Pasco, were travelling westbound on I-82 when Carpio lost control of the vehicle and ran into the median.
Troopers say the 1991 Red Honda hit a pole and then split in half. Witnesses told police they thought the car was traveling at about 100 miles per hour.
Paperwork was found in the car, showing it was purchased yesterday in Umatilla. There was also a box of beer and beer cans surrounding the area. Troopers say alcohol did play a factor in the accident. Troopers say Birrueta was not wearing a seatbelt.
