RICHLAND, Wash. - Today foreign trade representatives from China, Mexico, Japan and South Korea will be at WSU Tri-cities Wednesday March 19th, discussing trade options to local business owners.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, over $610 million dollars worth of goods was exported from the Tri-Cities in 2006. Washington state is the most trade dependent state in the nation, reaching $66 billion dollars in exports just last year.
The foreign trade meeting is put on by the Tri-city Development Council. The goal is to help local companies expand and boost the local economy.
Representatives will talk about growing import trends and demands along with how to find foreign trade partners.
