Shock paste Fever 63-32, AF2 team may be in Yakima in 2009
YAKIMA, Wash. - Close to 1,800 fans turned out to see the Shock beat the Fever in an exhibition game at the SunDome. The teams traded blows early before Spokane took over in the second half.
AF2 League President Jerry Kurz wants a team in Yakima for the 2009 season, but so far an owner has not stepped forward. He was happy to see the event go smoothly Thursday night. The fans seemed to enjoy it.
"I was sitting with some people and talking with some people," said Kurz. "They seemed to like it. That's what we're looking for."
One fan KNDO caught up with was hoping this was the first of many football games in Yakima. "We're not close to Seattle, so we don't get to enjoy football," he said. "We have to see it on TV. I would pay for season tickets hands down."
