YAKIMA, Wash. -- A fire in Yakima tonight completely destroys a West Valley home.
It happened around 5:15 this evening near Hazen Road and West Slavin.
The family was home at the time. They all managed to make it out safely.
Fire officials say the home was fully engulfed when they arrived on the scene. They say about seven trucks were called to help battle the blaze.
Christy Boisselle of the West Valley Fire Department said, "When we got here it was a little chaotic at first because we had so much fire, obviously before 911 was called something happened because there was a lot of fire when we got here. We usually don't see that much fire first on scene. "
They weren't immediately able to determine what started the fire. The owners of the home do not speak English and they were waiting for a translator to arrive to find out what exactly happened.
