GRANGER, Wash. -- A 24-year-old man was shot and killed in Granger early this morning. Police are still investigating the shooting, but neighbors say they believe it was gang related.
It happened at 901 Guzman Avenue around 2:30 this morning. A neighbor heard five gunshots and called the police.
When police arrived it appeared there had been a large gathering there. It was reported that there were nearly 30-40 people at the residence at the time of the shooting, but when police arrived very little information was available except that the shooting took place in the street.
The victim had two gunshot wounds to the chest and was transported to Toppenish Community Hospital and then to Yakima Regional Hospital where he died during surgery around 9 this morning.
Neighbors say there has been trouble at the house for more than twenty years and they see what they believe to be a lot of gang activity going on there.
