Kennewick Police Arrest Man Accused of Theft, Arson and Harassment

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Monday night a Kennewick man was in Benton County Jail after police said he threatened people with knives while wearing a hockey mask.

The alleged incident took place a week ago at the Tanglewood Apartments on North Arthur Street in Kennewick.       

27-year-old Leland Knapp the IV was arrested Saturday.     

Kennewick Police said that Monday March 17th the suspect made threats at the apartment complex.

When officers arrived they found smoke coming from an apartment and found ten little kittens inside but the suspect was nowhere to be found.     

Police were able to track him down after talking to witnesses and a taxi driver that apparently drove Knapp from Winco to downtown Kennewick.

Police arrested him for theft, harassment and arson.

No one was hurt in the fire.  There was a substantial amount of property damage because of the fire.
