30 Home Burglaries in Areas of Pasco in 30 DaysPosted: Updated:
PASCO, Wash.-- The area between 36th. and 46th. Street, is the section of Pasco hit repeated times.
Pasco police say they're still looking for those responsible in a high number of home burglaries all in the last 30 days.
"There's been a total of 29 to 30 burglaries," said Officer Tom Ninemire, with the Pasco Police Department.
And you never know who could be next.
"There's been one right across the street from where I live that's been hit and burglarized, they're in my neighborhood," said Ninemire.
We talked to one of his neighbors whose house was broken into just over a month ago. She asked to remain anonymous, but here's what she had to say.
"They were able to kick the door in and kick the frame from the door," she said.
And they didn't stop there.
"when they gained entrance to our room they were able to go in an take the jewelry and they took everything that was available to take," she said.
Along with that a lap top computer and some hunting rifles. A crime she says is unusual in her neighborhood.
"We've lived here for more than 20 years and we've never had this situation happen to us," she said.
She also says she's thought about contacting Pasco police about starting a neighborhood watch.
"Of course I'm afraid it could happen again," she said.
In the meantime Pasco police says this is all boils down to neighbors staying alert.
"Neighbors taking care of neighbors and when something doesn't look right which is real important, call the police," said Ninemire.
