KENNEWICK, Wash. - Former Prosser QB Tali Ena has been in and out of Arena Football the last few years. Now he's found a home as defensive player for the Tri-Cities Fever After previously playing in the AFL for Utah, Ena wound in training camp last year with the Fever. He decided he didn't want to play in the AF2, so walked away from the game. "I ended up really missed the organization last year," he said. Ena came back to the team for the 2008 season, and sounds fired up about strapping on the pads once again. "Starting things off, I liked Coach (Cedric) Walker's emphasis. I love my teammates to death, I love the coaches out here. I think we'll have a real successful season."
It won't be the same for Ena. The 6-5 245 pounder is switching to defense. "Tali is a defensive end, slash a little bit of jack (linebacker), slash emergency to the emergency to the emergency quarterback, slash just-in-case-we-need-him lineman, slash (I hope we don't ever need him at) kicker," said Walker. "That's his position."
Walker said he plans on starting Ena at defensive end for the opener Friday night against Stockton.
