LAS VEGAS, Nev - The Seattle Mariners wound up their spring training today, Nev., with a 4-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Las Vegas, Nev., in a game in which No. 4 starter Jarrod Washburn surrendered three runs in five innings.
Washburg allowed two earned runs and seven hits, while striking out two as the Mariners completed their spring schedule with a 13-16-3 record. Washburn gave up a home run to Reed Johnson to lead off the game.
Richie Sexson had an RBI single and Jose Vidro went 2-for-3 for the Mariners.
Seattle's No. 5 starter, Miguel Batista, pitched three scoreless innings and Arthur Rhodes gave up one run in one inning.
