Zillah Homes Sell; Buyers Don't Even See Model Home
ZILLAH, Wash - Homes in the lower valley are now a draw to Westside buyers. Construction of a model home in the new Zillah Lakes housing development is almost finished.
More than 600 hundred homes are to be built in the new development with thousands of residents coming to the Yakima Valley.
An official open house to take a look on the inside is a couple of weeks away ... But many are not waiting. There are 75 homes available in the first phase and already half of them half been sold. The majority of the buyers are from the west side of the state.
"They cash in their equity and then come over here and buy a better house, in a nicer location and pocket some money," says Pat Straussel with United Builders.
Straussel says it is very uncommon for people to buy a home without actually seeing it in person. The whole project will be finished in the next three to five years.
