Snowmobiler Rescued in Roslyn

KITTITAS, Wash. --  A snowmobiler was rescued Thursday night in Roslyn after mistakenly driving off a 1,000 foot cliff.

Bradley Brunner, 29, drove off the cliff and, luckily, landed in a tree 250 feet below. Two friends he was with were able to repel down to Brunner, but he was suffering from head injuries and early stages of hypothermia.

Brunner's friends dug a cave into the side of the cliff and started a fire using gasoline spilling from the wrecked snowmobile. Crews were able to locate the friends by using their avalanche beacons.

Brunner was taken to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue and has since been released.

Kittitas County investigators say alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
