A quick apology to Billy Allen and Tom Anderson.  I got their photos mixed up.  They should be correct now.  Too many photos in the library and I had them reversed.  I also have added in some additional information on Brooke Tyler and comments from team manager Mark Hooton.

Ted Porter's team will have some new leadership in the pits this summer as the team named two new crew chiefs.

The U-5 FormulaBoats.com unlimited hydroplane named Tom Anderson as Crew Chief.  Billy Allen will take over as crew chief of the U-7 FormulaBoats.com hydro.

Mark Hooton was recently named as team manager.  While it's the first year for all three gentlemen in their new roles, none of them are new to the team or new to boat racing.

"Both of them (Tom & Billy) have great experience and are demonstrated leaders in boatracing and the marine industry," said Hooton by email.  "Both Tom and Billy are assembling experienced Crews for the year."

Brooke Tyler was Crew Chief for the U-7 for 2006-2007  is taking most of the year off.  He's starting a family along with wife MeriLee  "The newest hydro fan due to arrive around the time of Thunder On The Ohio," said Hooton.  "We wish the Tylers all the best for a healthy addition to the family."

Hooton joined the U-7 Formulaboats.com racing team in 2006 and moved to the U-5 in 2007.  Now he has taken over the day-to-day duties of guiding the team.  He took over from Mike Weber, who resigned in September to spend more time with his family, including working with his son and daughter's boat racing efforts.

"I'm proud to be in a leadership position with the Formulaboats.com team," said Hooton after the announcement.  "I plan to continue with and expand on the tradition of excellence that Mike Weber and Ted Porter developed for this team."

"Daily prep and crew weekends continue in Decatur as the U5 and U7 are being readied for the season," Hooton said.
