Molestation Allegations Result in License Suspension for Yakima nurse

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash - A Yakima nurse has been immediately suspended after claims of child molestation are reported.  According to leaders at the Washington State Department of Health.  Alton Butler convinced the victim, a seven-year-old girl, his sexual acts were a part of a medical exam.

Investigators say this happened over a ten-year span.  Butler worked at Willow Springs Care in Yakima, but investigators say that's not where the molesting happened.  The location where it actually happened is not being release.

A statement of charges document from the Department of Health says Butler first molested the victim in 1997.  Investigators say Butler taught the victim how to perform sexual acts.  A quote from the summary of charges writes,  "The victim simply had a hard time believing that someone close to her would abuse her".  The victim didn't tell anyone about this for quite some time.

Butler has been a registered nurse in the state since 1992.
