KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Where is Josh Tucker tonight? A little more than two weeks ago the teen pled guilty to two counts of first degree murder.
Some might think he'd be shipped directly to prison but that's not the case. Department of Corrections officials say Tucker is at the Green Hill Juvenile Rehabilitation Center in Chehalis.
They say he was put there for his safety and the safety of other inmates. Department of Social and Human Service Officials say that the facility is like a maximum security prison for juveniles. He's expected to be there until he is 18.
Department of Corrections' Spokeswoman Maria Peterson says, "We have an obligation to keep our inmates safe even if they have committed heinous crimes. Juveniles are not on par with many of the adults. We have to use our best judgement to keep our offenders safe."
Another convicted killer has already made his way to a state prison. Kevin Hilton is in Walla Walla where he is serving life without parole.
