Benton County Democrats Hold District Caucuses

Posted: Updated:

More than 400 Benton county democrats came out to their district caucuses on Saturday. Democrats from the 8th and 16th districts were at Kamiakin High School earlier to help pick 38 more delegates for their party.

These delegates will head to the 4th Congressional District State Convention in Spokane. They will also help pick the next presidential candidate at the state and national level.

"We've never had this many people at this level before, it's the same as it was in the precinct caucus back in February, we're setting records, the democrats have turned out in an extraordinary manner this year," said Regina Speer, Vice-Chair of the Benton County Democrats.

There were 33 delegates picked from the 8th district and 5 from the 16th.
