RICHLAND, Wash.-- All four WSU campuses will be participating in an emergency communication system test this Wednesday April 9th.
Starting around noon students, faculty and staff will be getting messages by phone, text messaging, or email, saying the testing is underway. Everyone who receives the message has to reply back, otherwise the system will keep messaging an alert until it gets a response.
"With the ice storm this winter several operations across the Tri-Cities were closed down and to have been able to get to people efficiently and effectively would have answered many questions," said Lori Selby, WSU Tri-Cities Chancellor for Finance and Administration.
This type of testing has been active for several months now in Pullman and Spokane campuses. This is the first time for WSU Tri-Cities to try out the system.
