It's that time of year again. The tax return deadline is just days away, and if you owe money and can't pay it back in full, the IRS says there's no need to panic.
They have several payment options available on their web site. You can also file for an extension at no charge, but it has to be done by April 15th.
The other option is to go for a payment agreement. Online you can also find out if you're eligible for this plan. Most of all the IRS wants everyone to file before it's too late.
"If you have your return ready file it by April 15th, pay what you can then there are a number of various payment options," said Judy Monahan, IRS Spokeswoman.
The reason why meeting this deadline is so important is to avoid interest and penalty fees from adding up. There are already some late fees that apply. Right now those are set at half of one percent per month.
