YAKIMA, Wash. - Yakima Police have released the names of the two men who were shot in Monday's gang-related shooting on Fair Avenue.
Jesse Chinchuretta, 30, was shot once in the back and died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Eddy Cerda, 28, was shot multiple times in the chest and arm. He underwent emergency surgery for his wounds and was in the intensive care unit Tuesday morning.
Police say both men are known to be involved with gang activity.
The shooting happened at about 7 p.m. Monday night, outside the apartment complex at 204 S. Fair Avenue. Police and witnesses say an argument broke out between rival gang members in the parking lot of the complex.
Some witnesses claim there were two suspects, while others said there were more than two. They told police the suspects left in a dark, older model Honda.
