YAKIMA, Wash - Typically landscaping outside our studios doesn't make the news, but we thought we should share with you how Wednesday's work is preventing power outages. Pacific Power was cutting down trees in front of the KNDO studios. These trees were getting too close to power lines. We were given a certificate to get smaller trees to put in their place. The power company routinely does this around the region.
"We all love our tree's and we don't like to see them trimmed up, we have to keep the power on and have to keep the situation safe," says Clark Satre with Pacific Power.
Satre also says the trees are trimmed up to prevent people from climbing them and getting near the power lines. If you have tree limbs near a line you can give your power company a call and they will take care of it for free.
