Unusual Pair Causing Trouble in YakimaPosted: Updated:
YAKIMA, Wash - An unlikely pair causing trouble in one Yakima community. Jumping in cars , stealing food and standing in the road.
"He just looks at you," says a neighbor.
"They've wandered all the way down here and we have cats and dogs and they get into our food," says Sandy Kallenberger, another neighbor.
It's just a couple of best friends having a good time. "Bear" the dog and "Emma" the pig are friendly, but some neighbors don't enjoy their visits.
"They're just a nuisance running around, they should be in their pens" explains the neighbor up the road from Bear and Emma.
The pair will sometimes get in the way of cars and eat food that isn't theirs.
"The dog comes over and eats my cat food," the neighbor says.
"I think they think they are related, the pig thinks the dog is a pig or the dog thinks a pig is a dog," says Kallenberger.
KNDO spoke with the owners. They know what kind of trouble their pets are getting into. They keep Bear tied up in the yard now because Emma won't venture outside the yard without him.
"They seem to want to be with each other all the time," says Kallenberger.
Neighbors admit they are a cute couple, but are glad they will be staying at home more often.
Animal control officers say if any animal is running around freely off of its owner property, the owner could face a $250 fine.
