Americans Advance to WHL Finals for First Time in 9 Years

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - Even with Thomas Hickey back in the Seattle line-up, there was no stopping the Tri-City Americans offense.

Colton Yellow Horn scored two goals, Chet Pickard stopped all 32 shots he saw and the Tri-City Americans shutout the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-0 to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the third time in franchise history. The Americans last advanced to the Western Conference Finals in 1999, when Scott Gomez and Co. squared off against the Kamloops Blazers. While waiting to see if either Spokane or Vancouver advances, Tri-City will now have nearly a full week off before their next contest. Check the Americans' website, AmsHockey.com in the coming days for a full listing of the Conference Finals schedule.
