KENNEWICK, Wash.-- 23-year-old Geovanny Martinez Chavez had an order violation against him. This is when Kennewick police started searching for the man.
They found him at the Sage and Sun Motel in Pasco. Officers asked Chavez to come out of his room, but he refused.
Instead he broke into the manager's room at the motel, and barricaded himself in the bathroom. Chavez refused to open the door, forcing officers to break in and taze him.
Police say he was armed with two knives. Chavez was already wanted in Franklin county for first degree burglary.
He was later booked into Franklin county jail on this charge. Chavez was also arrested for resisting arrest and order violation. Police say burglary charges in Benton county are pending.
