PASCO, Wash.-- On Saturday many immigrants got help filling out their applications for citizenship.
The American Immigration Lawyers Association put together a workshop in eight places across the state. Close to 40 people were at the Sea Mar Motel in Pasco getting help.
April 19th is Citizenship Day. Several lawyers were there to answer questions and four interpreters helped translate.
"For any people who have problems, here they can answer any doubts, before going to a notary or someone who is not well-prepared, that's why I came here," said Rosa Badillo, who had just finished filling out her citizenship application.
Badillo was one of the few people at the event today, ready to mail her application. This workshop was started in Washington state three years ago, and it's now done in 26 other states in the country.
