KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Many groups around the Tri-Cities honored Earth Day in different ways this weekend.
On Sunday members of the Vista Youth Center teamed up with the River of Life Metropolitan Community Church to plant a memorial garden.
Anyone in the community was welcomed to plant a tree to honor the memory of a lost loved one. If you couldn't make it out there, the youth center is still taking donations for the garden.
The staff says it's just trying to get people involved in making the earth a better place.
"It's very important that we keep the youth in the mix, when it comes to keeping the earth healthy," said Tamara Johnson, with the Vista Youth Center.
