After two straight double-overtime, 1-0 games, it's clear to see the Spokane and Tri-City are evenly matched. Game 1 was a 1-0 Spokane win in Double OT. Game 2 was a 1-0 Americans win in Double OT. Game 3 is Monday night at Spokane Arena. After several high-scoring games in the regular season, there rivalry has taken morphed into a defensive struggle. "Desperation," explained Ams Coach Don Nachbaur. "Both teams want to go on. Both teams are desperate to keep the puck out of their net, maybe overemphasizing the defensive side over the offensive side." "All the games are gonna be close for sure," said Chet Pickard, who made 45 saves in Game 2. "We've been so close all year. Three games went to overtime this season. I don't expect anything less." One goal by each team in two games--It doesn't get any tighter than that," said Nachbaur. "We expected it to be a tight series but this is truly shaping up to be a great series. Not just physically, but there's a mental toughness guys are developing here."
