YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima County will soon be using $1.5 million in grant money to help the homeless.
Starting in May, the Department of Community Services will be recruiting homeless adults and children to find them permanent housing. Their goal is to help 87 people over a three year span.
Community Services will hire six "Outreach Case Managment Specialists" to help recruit and provide housing services.
The grant money came from the State Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development.
