TIETON, Wash. -- Over 100 firefighters from all over the Yakima Valley were called to a fire at Evans Fruit in Tieton Thursday morning.
The fire started in the warehouse at around 1 a.m. Part of its roof caved in and it took crews more than four hours to knock the fire down completely.
Fire officials said it spread quickly and burned for so long because the warehouse was full of cardboard packing materials.
The person who called 9-1-1 to report the fire said she saw two people running from the scene. Investigators said they were trying to figure out whether the individuals were workers at Evans or if they were connected to the fire in another way.
