The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

Posted: Updated:

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) helps individuals, age 55 and older, put their skills and life experiences to work for their communities.  RSVP helps elder Americans stay active and involved.

The number of hours an RSVP volunteer serves is flexible.  Right now, volunteers are needed at meal sites throughout the county to help both prepare and serve meals to seniors, at local food banks. Volunteers are also needed as youth mentors and tutors, Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors counselors, and to crochet or knit cold-weather items for Project Warm-Up.

These are just a few of the many RSVP volunteer opportunities currently available in the Yakima County.

If you would like information on becoming an RSVP volunteer, please call Sirena at RSVP of Yakima County at (509) 574-1933.
