PASCO, Wash. -- Two urgent care clinics in the Tri-Cities are in new hands. But, the same familiar faces will greet you if you need help.
Kennewick General Hospital and the Lourdes Health Network are purchasing both of Doctor Raymond Kania's clinics.
He says he is selling the clinics to allow the hospitals to provide more complete medical service. He says he is looking forward to not having to deal with the business side of running the clinics.
But, he says, even after 30 years in the Tri-Cities, he will still be practicing medicine. Lourdes officials say buying the clinic on Road 68 was a good chance to expand their services.
Lourdes President and CEO John Serle says, "The area between Road 100 and 20th in Pasco has just grown by leaps and bounds over the last several years, so we felt like we really needed to have a presence closer to the Road 68 area."
Lourdes and KGH officials say they are planning to keep Kania's employees. The official transition date is June 1st.
