SEATTLE, Wash - University of Washington quarterback Jake Locker demonstrated today that he might be ready to add a more accurate passing touch next season to go with his running abilities.
The Huskies played their annual Purple and Gold spring practice game today at Husky Stadium in Seattle.
During an 80-yard scoring driver in the third quarter, Locker completed 7 of 7 passes for 65 yards - including an 11-yard touchdown pass to D'Andre Goodwin.
Coach Tyrone Willingham says Locker showed that running the offense is coming easier to him now than it did a year ago.
Reserve quarterback Ronnie Fouch threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Devin Aguilar to lead the Gold team to a 10-7 win over the Purple.
The Huskies open their season Aug. 30 at Oregon.
One big question that remains is the status of center Juan Garcia. He suffered a foot injury earlier this spring that could sideline him for the season.
Garcia was a second-team all-Pac-10 selection last year, starting every game at center for the second consecutive year.
