Americans' Success Helping Economy

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- One of the things also feeling the Americans' success is the local economy.

This really is an extra season.

Just do the math on it, the Ams played about 40 regular season home games, Tuesday will be their ninth playoff home game, that's almost an extra quarter season, and the team and surrounding businesses are taking notice.

Red Robin across the street from Toyota Center is definitely taking notice.

They say they're packed before and after every home game, and the playoffs aren't anything different.

Sellouts aren't hurting the team or the Toyota Center's vendors either.

"You never budget for the playoffs, you hope for the playoffs, and it's making a great economic impact obviously for the team but for the market as well.   We're getting in lots of visiting fans coming and spending the night in the tri-cities and experiencing what we have to offer," said Brian Sandy, Americans CMO.

The last few games have brought about 6,000 people every night.
