Domestic Violence Services Gets a New Home

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.--  Domestic violence is a terrible thing that happens every day.
Some people don't talk about it because they don't know where to go or who to talk to.

Domestic Violence Services of Benton and Franklin Counties is a business that has been in the Tri-Tities since 2003 and has helped more than 80 thousand people.  It has a shelter, a 24 hour crisis line, legal services, and more.

It's a growing business and is moving to a new location at the end of this week.  Kelly Abken, the Executive Director, says, "this has been a great location for us but we've really outgrown the space.   The needs of our clients, the services that we offer, have just really grown in the past four years.   This new space has so many possibilities and will be so much more client friendly."

If you are a victim of domestic violence or would like to donate items for the victims, you can stop by that new location. The address is:

3311 W. Clearwater Ave.

Suite C140

Kennewick, WA 99336

And the phone number is:  (509) 735- 1295

They also have a 24 hour crisis line:  (800) 648- 1277
