KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A 26-year-old Kennewick man is still in intensive care after driving his car into the Columbia river.
Dive and rescue said the man was under water for about 25 minutes. Richland police say Joshua Michael Olson drove his brown PT Cruiser in the river near Howard Amon Park
They think it was done intentionally. The Columbia basin dive and rescue team says the car was 20 feet under water and about 100 feet from the shore.
"The water was 47 which was beneficial, it slows your whole body down, your heartbeat and everything else, circulation, so it slows any complications with your brain and neuro functions," said Scott Pattison, with the Dive and Rescue Team.
