West Richland Wildfire Threatening Homes, Destroys Cars and a Shed

WEST RICHLAND, Wash.- An apparently human started wildfire near downtown West Richland has destroyed a shed and multiple vehicles, according to authorities on the scene.

The fire broke out in a grove of trees along 38th Ave. just south of downtown around 4:40 Friday afternoon.

The fire has forced nearby residents from their homes.  It was threatening the homes.

Firefighters on the scene said so far they've been able to contain it to the size it was when the arrived.

It appeared to be only a few acres in between homes.
