Fever Win Second Straight, Beat Bossier-Shreveport 48-44
KENNEWICK, Wash - After a 4th quarter field goal (4:52) by Bossier-Shreveport (3-4) to take the lead 44-42, the Battlewings recovered a surprising on-side kick and started driving the field for the potential nail in the coffin. Tri-Cities (2-4) had other plans and the defense stood strong to force the Battlewings to turn the ball over downs for the 2nd during the game.
QB Josh Kellet (20-32 for 282 yards; 5 TDs) would lead the Fever down the field connecting with JR Thomas (10 recs. for 132 yards; 4 TD) with 25 seconds left on the clock to put the Fever ahead for good 48-44.
After being down at half for the 6 consecutive game, the Fever defense stepped up and stopped the Battlewings twice on downs and forced them to kick a field goal once.
JR Thomas accumulated 24 points with his 4 TD catches and moved into 7th place all-time in career scoring and is now tied for 5th all-time career receiving TDs with 124.
