CONNELL, Wash.-- Coyote Ridge Corrections Center is expanding. It's adding room for 2,048 new inmates. It is also adding 450 new jobs. More than half of those jobs are Corrections Officers positions.
To be a Corrections Officer you must be at least 18- years- old, have a high school diploma, or GED, a current drivers license, no criminal history, and you must be able to pass psychological examinations.
Coyote Ridge is doing several rounds of hiring. Almost 40 Corrections Officers have already been hired and 100 new staff members should be added by this September.
Janet Kleinbach, Correctional Unit Supervisor or and part of the Coyote Ridge expansion team, says, "We have a database right now with over 650 names on it. We've been doing a lot of job fairs and we go do worksource every Thursday in the Tri-Cities"
Coyote Ridge has at least three employees there every Thursday from 9:00am until 7:00pm. They require everyone who is interested to fill out an electronic application and they will correspond with you via e-mail. If you don't have e-mail, WorkSource and Coyote Ridge will set you up with an account for free.
